Defective By Creation
Defective by creation is the story of a group of outcasts, and their fight to have a place in the world.
The world
When the planet leader died, the planet mysteriously broke apart into pieces around the border lines of each country. At the boarders of each new segment, there are now cliffslides, that are habitable, but no body in their right mind would ever live away from the mainland and away from society.
On the planet, there is one main species of people who live, called Stickmen. They are similar to humans, but different in different key ways. Some stickmen are born into the world, although about 75% are created. Only one variant of stickmen have the ability to give birth, while the rest are brought to life by an unknown force on the tallest mountain. This unkown force is named Madrona by society, who is an equvilant to god in this world. Being in the main sector, Jenisit's sector, the Jenian government takes care of all children who are created.Once the world leader died, each segment took up their own form of government, which is when the Jenian government was formed. On their second ruler, Carimandula Lewellyn, the government created new laws regarding newly created children. For the sake of controlling the population and managing resources, all stickmen who were created with a significant disability were to be discarded. They were labeled "defects". The public was not informed of this change and only higher officals know of it.
Clarimond Caisel
Clarimond, known as Mother Caisel to most of the population, was the caretaker of the newly created stickmen in the Jenian Authority. Her job was to raise the children until they were able to be sent to higher schooling somewhere else. Incredibly kind and loving, she saved Dave from his fate as a defect, something she had been unable to do with many children before. She had many enemies, which led to an attack on her life what got her impossibly pregnant with Rick. She fled the authority to dedicate the rest of her life to her children.
Dave "Devante" Caisel
Dave, known only to himself as Devante, was labeled a defect when he was created. He was able to escape and run into the caretaker at the time, "Mother" Clarimond Caisel, who saved him from his death. She raised him and his family , and now that he's older, Dave takes care of his small family on the cliffslide.
Rick Caisel
Rick is the only known hybrid between two races of stickmen. After a deadly attack on her life, Clarimond Caisel came out impossibly pregnant. Due to Rick's nature, Clarimond had to escape the authority with Rick and leave her old life behind. Rick is particularly bitter due to his relation to his father.
Cheyenne Lewellyn
Cheyenne Lewellyn is the current leader of the Jenian Authority. She appears professional and particularly cold to the general public, alongside her Vice-Chief Lunette Jessale. She used to be close to Clarimond when she was being raised as the new chief by Cartimandua, but had to cut ties with her. Cheyenne had a tough upbringing and a bad relationship with her "mother" Cartimandua.
